Hi, I’m Julie Hester.


I started my accounting career in 1995 as an office clerk in a computer store in Reno, Nevada, where I discovered a knack for accounting. Through the years, I was fortunate to collaborate with a smattering of local small businesses and CPA firms on state regulatory audits, chart of account reviews, income and expense management, and tax return preparation, as well as hands-on day-to-day management of business accounting departments. 


I started my practice as a freelance contractor in 2009. In 2019, I created Lawley Bookkeeping and Accounting to focus on small business accounting and start-up companies who desire accurate, up-to-date financial data. We possess a wide-range of industry specific accounting knowledge including the areas of construction, restaurant, not-for-profit, tribal entities, cash-based, and professional services industries.


I’m dedicated to providing straight-forward, successful bookkeeping and payroll solutions and departmental processes to small businesses, locally and nationally. I believe the more informed we are, the better we’re able to navigate through many business demands that pop-up, from specific federal and state tax documentation requirements and routine audits, to the ability to make confident financial decisions that will give your business a leading edge.
