Meet Julie
Hi, I’m Julie Hester — founder of Lawley Bookkeeping & Accounting and a long-time lover of numbers and systems.
My journey into bookkeeping started in 1995 as an office clerk for a computer store in Reno, Nevada. I quickly found I had a knack for helping businesses stay financially organized. Since then, I’ve worked closely with small business owners and CPA firms managing everything from state audits and account cleanups to tax prep and day-to-day financial operations.
In 2009, I began freelancing, and by 2019, I officially launched Lawley Bookkeeping & Accounting as a full-time business.
Today, my team and I support clients across construction, e-commerce, manufacturing, nonprofits, tribal, and professional services. We’re known for being structured, thorough, and proactive — and for helping clients understand the why behind their numbers, not just the what.
I’m currently the primary face of the firm, but Lawley has always had a team-based heart. I’ve worked with other bookkeepers in the past, and as we grow, I’m excited to bring on new support — including my 17-year-old son, who’s shown a real interest in accounting and plans to pursue it after graduation. He’s already started learning the ropes and will be helping out behind the scenes.
I love making the financial side of business feel more human and less intimidating. Whether it’s a one-time cleanup or ongoing support, I’m here to help you get (and keep) your books in shape — and build the systems to stay that way.
